sTEVE kONEFAL

I graduated from Penn State University’s five-year Architectural Engineering program with a specialization in Architectural Structures.

I practiced in my early years with Christakis + Kachele in Philadelphia, spent formative years at Robert Silman Associates in New York City, and worked at Structural Engineering Corporation in Pittsburgh before founding Konefal & Company, Inc.  My work has included renovations to existing structures, historic preservation, new institutional buildings, and high-end residences. 

My approach to structural engineering begins with understanding the architectural goals of a project.  This understanding informs the structural design process, leading to final detailing that is efficient and constructible.

I’m registered in Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, and Maine.
